Chronicles (June 1936 – May 1940)

Victor Serge (1890–1947) returned to Russia when the Revolution was announced. Imprisoned first before being expelled for criticising the regime, he arrived in Brussels in April 1936. A Belgian newspaper, La Wallonie, published his weekly column; a hundred or so of these are collected together in this volume.
In his role as as a writer, and without despair, Victor Serge became the chronicler of the counter-revolutions operating in a Europe moving towards a second world war.
